As you Yankee fans probably know by now, the Yanks acquired power righty A.J. Burnett this week.  I am not in favor of this acquisition.  Do I think he'll be good?  Yes, but only to an extent.  Up until last season, Burnett has gotten hurt just about every year (except '05).  Frankly, I'm convinced the only reason he didn't get hurt last year was because it was a contract year.

Figuring the average healthy starter gets 33 starts per year, that would project them at 165 starts over the course of five years (which is Burnett's contract).  I predict that Burnett will only start roughly 120 of these games due to injury.

On top of injury concerns, Burnett has an ERA over 5.00 against teams in the AL East other than the Yankees and Red Sox.
