AIG execs take 85 billion dollar bailout, go on vacation
I think I'm gonna be sick. This just hit the news, I'm sure one or two of you are out there blogging about this very thing even as I write this. One week after AIG received an $85 billion dollar bailout, it's top executives went on a week-long vacation to an expensive spa, in California I think it was, I was already so blown away after that first part that I wasn't really paying attention anymore. Between the $1,000-per-night rooms, room service, expensive dining, spa sessions, etc etc etc, they racked up a bill of nearly $500,000. I guess they decided that the best way to spend our tax-dollars is to celebrate their salvation from bankruptcy at our expense.
I now invite anyone who does any business with AIG, who has any mortgages or other loans from them, to go ahead and refinance through someone else who doesn't do business with them. Boycott AIG. These guys need to be driven out of business, but it needs to be done in a way that spares us from going down in flames right along with them. Or kill them. That'd be just as good.
