Alright.  Here we go.  My very first blog.  I have commented on many others, so I decided to write one myself.  I may or may not get some responses, so be it.  I want to state up front that I do not have all the answers, nor do I claim to be an expert.  I am also not condemning or judging others who do not share my beliefs or agree with me.

With that being said, here goes nothing:

Recently I have read and responded to various blogs regarding religion, the existence of God and Christianity.  First, I want to say that I am a Christian; I believe in God, I believe Jesus is the son of God, and I believe He is the Savior.  I also believe the Bible is the absolute truth and the word of God.  It is not a fairytale or a work of fiction.  It tells about the creation of all things, the fall of man, and it is an instruction manual on how to live your life according to God’s will.

Now, I would be foolish not to admit the Bible is hard to understand and is very confusing.  But, keep in mind the original Bible was written in Hebrew and Aramaic (Old Testament), and Greek (New Testament).  Also, one needs to keep in mind that the Bible was written in a style not used today, so it is no wonder that a person living in the 21^st century would have trouble understanding the Bible.

Anyway, I digress.  The 21^st century has seen an increase of attacks against the very foundation of Christianity.  I could site many examples, but it would take all day.  If anyone wants specific examples I would be more than willing to give some at a later date.  Anyway, I will admit Christians have not shed themselves in a good light, especially since they have been the most vocal about their beliefs throughout the centuries.  Many Christians are judgmental of others, arrogant and basically act like they are better than others.  I’m here to tell you that is not how God wants his followers to act.  Only God can judge others, because in His eyes we are all the same.  None of us are without sin and nobody is better than anyone else.  I will be the first to admit that I am a sinner and it is only through salvation and the grace of God that I will go to Heaven.  No man or woman can get to Heaven without salvation.  Anyone who thinks they can is seriously misguided and living a hollow life.  It should be noted before I move on that all religions and non religions (atheists/agnostics) all have individuals who judge and condemn others for not believing or agreeing with them.  It is a fact that nobody is perfect, especially me.  Everyone from the Pope to a common thug has sinned and will continue to sin until the end of times.

Ok, I think I have written enough for now.  This blog was not intended to preach or force my beliefs on anyone who may choose to read this.  I have stated before, God created us with freewill.  Freewill allows us to make our own choices.  We can choose to believe in God or not, it’s up to each individual person.  But, remember with choices come consequences and some are better than others.  God does not force people to follow his word.  People force their will on others, whether it be Christianity, Islam or atheism or whatever the case may be.
