Help Required --- Costume Idea

Hey kids.

Seeing as the majority of you possess a sick and twisted sense of humor, I'm in need of a little help in picking out a costume idea for Halloween. Now, keeping in mind that I'll be walking door to door with my daughter, any suggestions of dressing as a giant phallus or a gruesome monster are out of the question. (Don't want to warp the little lass until she's at least five.) What 'm looking for is a costume that will stand out as original, but still be simple enough to toss together and be mobile in.

Again, for the sake of Blue, I'm going to stress the "no giant phallus" statement.

Here's what's been proposed thus far: my sister and my best friend/her boyfriend (weird, right?!?) have decided they want to come walk the neighbourhood with the kid and I. My sister is super jazzed about this idea she had of us all dressing up in a theme. The only thing she seems set on going out as is a "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog" themed costume set. (For those of you not in the know of what "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog" is, I suggest you go to youtube.com and watch it; it's fucking brilliant!) I have this unfortunate resembelance to one Neil Patrick Harris (minus the love of cock and stupid-ass blonde hair), plus a near full working of his costume from the mini-movie, so I've been elected to go as Dr. Horrible. Her boyfriend is going to be that Captain Hammer fellow, and she was going as...well....who the fuck cares what she was going as, really? I'm not totally down with this idea, and told her to give me a day or so to come up with something stellar. Having no real time to sit down and think three working costume out, I've decided to let you fine boys and girls do my dirty work.

I need a costume idea that can be broken into three unique costumes: two fellows and one lady. I'd thought of a G.I. Joe kinda thing, but don't want the realitive closeness of that shitty live-action film to taint the awesomeness of the 80s cartoon, so that's a bust. We're leaning more towards pop-culture costumes, shit from the 80s or early 90s, that would really be stand-out.

My other idea was going as the B-52s, but that'd be pretty hard to pull off, much less convincing as to who we were suppose to be. Beetlejuice would be cool, but hard to nail.......same with my other thoughts of My Pet Monster or Thundercats. I was really excited about doing a "Small Wonder" theme, but realized pretty early that nobody....NOBODY....would know what the fuck that was. (I'll bet a pile of you are asking yourself what "Small Wonder" is; hit youtube for that one, too. You'll remember instantly, groan, then spend the next five days cursing me for getting the theme song stuck in your head.) So, my bloggy pals of the interwebs, the decision has been passed to you: what to dress up as?

Please post any and all ideas that can work for a group of adults who are accompanying a child around the neighbourhood. (It saddens me to have to say this again---"No giant phallus, Blue!") I'll need a few days to toss everything together, so be quick and description heavy as to how to make it awesome. Otherwise, it's the Dr. Horrible theme....and nobody wants to see that.

Cheers!
