I made it!

I have now been on the site as a member for a grand total of 196 days. Just over half a year. And to comemmorate it, make a suggestion, and celebrate a little in my own geeky way...let me paraphrase a little Tolkein.

I hope you are all enjoying yourselves as much as I am. There might be cries of 'Yes' and some of 'No'.

I shall not keep you long which should get cheers from all the assembly. I have called you all together for a Purpose.

Indeed, for Three Purposes! First of all, to tell you that I am immensely fond of many of you, and that one hundred ninety-six days is too short a time to quarrel among such excellent and admirable weirdos.

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Secondly, I want to note that for a couple days now I've been hovering around the low 600's as far as my standing on the eBaum's ladder. With over 62,000 overall members, I'm pleased to say this puts me in good company at the upper 1% of the site members.

I've never thought I would realistically claim any swag from e-rep standings, so I'm not really a point-whore, but I consider it more of a point of honor to have been included in such a good percentile in such a short period of time.

Thirdly, it occurs to me that there are indeed personalities among the bloggers and elsewhere in the site who have earned even more dubious reputations than I. It is with that I wish to make a proposal...since Jenny's 'Battle Blogs' were never the rage, maybe it's a chance for us to celebrate some of our more venerated members with a time-honored tradition:

The Roast.

Obviously, this would be up to Jenny's judgment as all good roasts have certain qualities to them.

They are meant to be ORGANIZED expressions of ADMIRATION. Not peevish puerile slams.

They are meant to be HOSTED and SCHEDULED by a Roast-master (or mistress) who makes sure the right person is being roasted at the right time.

Everyone who's participating takes turns insulting the person the roast is for, but the insults are supposed to be HUMOROUS and out of RESPECT.

At the END, the person who was roasted gets to respectfully fire back their own volley of clever insults to those that decided to 'compliment' him in turn.

Of course, considering the number of outright knaves we have on this site, this could get outta hand WAY too quickly, so like I said, if Jenny doesn't think this is a good idea then I have to side with her.

Anyway...does anyone else have another opinion?
