People have been popping off on uncle Al and his film lately.  Apparently some court in England has decreed that he had 9 factual errors in his film, "An Inconvenient Truth."  Some people on this website have used this as a stepping stone to trash the film's central thesis that human impact is causing climate change is a hoax or at least bullshit.

Before I say anything else, let's make sure you guys know what climate is.  If your summer was hot or your winter warm, that's not fucking climate.  That's weather.  If your averaging temperature and precipitation over years or decades, that's climate.  Nobody gives a shit if it was cold out today.

It seems to me that the data about Al's film being untruthy or not fact checked has been seriously cherry picked.

I should be pointed out that the article the BBC published about Gore's inaccuracies stated that the film will still be shown in classrooms despite some minor inaccuraciesbecause "man-made emissions of greenhouse gases are causing serious climateconsequences."

The British courts "verified that the central argument of 'An Inconvenient Truth' is supported by the scientific community. Of the thousands and thousands of facts presented in the film, the judge apparently took issue with a handful." This doesn't exactly sound like an indictment of Gore or his message.

Edit:  keep in mind, I'm not arguing if Al is an asshole, a douchebag, or owns a home that is too big.  I'm saying that the central thesis of the film he's in is correct despite 9 factual errors that have been pointed out.
