Did anyone see the interview Matt Damon did with Us magazine? I like him as an actor but he lost all credibility and respect with me when I saw this.

Ok, this first part I don't really have a problem with because it's his opinion and he is entitled to it. He feels that there's a good chance John McCain won't survive his term if he gets elected. "I think there's a really good chance Sarah Palin could become president, and I think that's a really scary thing." Fair enough, that's his opinion. "It's like a really bad Disney move, the hockey mom, you know, 'Oh, I'm just a hockey mom'...and she's facing down President Putin...It's totally absurd...It's a really terrifying posibility." Again, that's his opinion and he's entitled to it.

Here's where I lose respect for him. "I need to know if she really thinks dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago...I want to know that I really do because she's going to have the nuclear codes....Or if she banned books or tried to ban books, we can't have that." Is he serious? Whether you like her or not you should at least do some homework before saying something like that in an interview. The dinosaur thing came from some jackass in Olympia, WA blogging and making fun of her religious beliefs. The issue of banning books has been proven wrong as well.

If you're going to interviewed by a magazine and also have a video that will be seen by millions of people you should refrain from making such stupid comments.

I saved the best quote for last. "For a lot of actors, our biggest fear is that we're going to start talking about things we don't fully understand and sound like idiots. In the long run, I'll do much more good if, when I open my mouth, I have something worth saying." Too bad he didn't heed his own advice.
