Begin McCain's Story

So then, let's begin shall we? First, since you obviously don't know the whole story, here it is. On October 26, 1967, John McCain's A-4E Skyhawk was shot down over Hanoi. During ejection, shrapnel and debris fractured both of his arms and one of his legs. He then landed in Truc Bach Lake where he nearly drowned. North Vietnamese soldiers pulled him ashore, crushed his shoulder with the butt of a rifle, and stabbed him in the ankle and groin with a rifle bayonett. He was then brought to Hoa Lo Prison.

There, McCain was told he would receive medical treatment for his wounds in return for disclosing military information. McCain refused, and was further beaten. He went untreated for several days, until the North Vietnamese learned that his father was a top admiral. Believing this to mean he must know valuable information, they treated his injuries only to keep him alive for future interrogations.

He spent six weeks in a hospital receiving marginal care before being placed in a cell with two other American POW's. Upon seeing him and evaluating his injuries, they both expected that he would die within a week. He did not. He and his brothers in arms supported and encouraged one another, until the NV seperated them to prevent them from continuing to do exactly that. McCain was placed in solitary confinement. He was locked in a small room with boarded windows and a tin roof. The heat was so intense that he actually formed boils under his arms where the heat was trapped against his body. He remained in solitary confinement for two years.

In mid-1968, McCain was offered early release. He refused, instead permitting others to go in his stead. Some say that these prisoners had not even been there as long as McCain had, and that McCain refused to be released until ALL others had gone before him. I can find no solid facts supporting that statement, so that may or may not be true. I can tell you that the POW code of conduct only requires you to refuse release unless all those who have been there LONGER than you have already been released, i.e. they must insist on being released in the order that they were captured, at the very least.

In August of 1968, the NV began to torture McCain in an attempt to gain information from him. He was bound with rope and  beaten every two hours, and was also suffering from dysentery and given no medical treatment. During this time McCain attempted to kill himself but was stopped by the guards. After enduring four days of this (that's approximately 48 beatings for those who don't want to do the math themselves), living off of whatever scraps they fed him and getting what sleep he could in the short two hours between beatings, McCain agreed to make an anti-American propaganda "confession" to satisfy his captors. HE PROVIDED NO INFORMATION THAT COULD BE USED TO LOCATE OR ATTACK FELLOW AMERICANS... he only provided them with a propaganda "confession" and nothing more.

This was enough to halt his torture, for a short time. Subsequent refusal to sign further propaganda statements and confessions resulted in further beatings, averaging two or three per week. He also refused to meet with various anti-war activist groups, as this would also provide additional propaganda for the NV.

This pattern of treatment continued until McCain was released on March 14, 1973. He was a prisoner for 5 years, 4 months, and 2 weeks.

Now, shitstain, you may have noticed the part I put in caps for you. Then again, you seem to have the cognitive capacity of a fucking box of hair, so maybe not. I'll reiterate: John McCain did not provide any information to the enemy that could aid in locating or attacking fellow Americans. He gave them nothing that could harm his brothers. He agreed to make a propaganda "confession" that simply tarnishes America's image by suggesting that even their own soldiers believe that what they are doing is wrong and evil.

Second, you want to know how the military can side with a man who gave in to torture and provided the enemy with something they wanted? You have absolutely no fucking clue what you're talking about. Pull your head out of your ass and listen to me very carefully, I'll speak slowly so you can understand. Rambo could resist torture. Jason Bourne could resist torture. If Delta Force exists, SOME of them can probably resist torture. The very finest of our elite special forces can probably resist torture. All of the above, tortured long enough, would eventually reach their breaking point. Everyone has one, it's only a matter of time. That's why it's called RESISTING torture and not DEFEATING torture. You can only do it for so long... if the torture continues, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE can resist it forever.

If you think we're going to abandon a brother because he's been tortured to his breaking point, then you're a fool. Seeing a brother tortured to his breaking point will only rally us to his aid more than ever, not drive us away. If you can't understand that, then you'll never comprehend the sacred bond the unites we band of brothers. Some of the toughest SOB's in the history of our military, insofar as POW's who were tortured, only lasted about a week. Some rare cases lasted a week and a half. And you want to tell me that YOU KNOW you can resist torture better than McCain did?

Get this straight right now, you fucking slimy little worm. You don't know the first fucking thing about pain, let alone torture. You're probably barely out of highschool, if you're not still IN highschool. Odds are the most painful thing you've ever experienced is a multiple-fracture from a skateboarding accident, for which you received swift medical attention, took prescription painkillers while you recovered, and never had to concern yourself with the infections that come from lack of treatment. And you think you could have resisted longer than McCain?! You're a worthless waste of fucking flesh, that you could even have the nerve to breath such a claim within earshot of another living thing. Let any Marine strap you to a chair and go to work with nothing but a pair of pliers. You'd be singing like a fucking canary within 60 seconds, count on it.

Want to endure the exact same thing as McCain, just to make it fair? Fine. We'll break your arms, a leg, and a shoulder, stab you through your ankle and through your groin, let you bake in an oven for two years, and then proceed to tie you down and beat you every two hours until you give us what we want. If you make it through ONE FUCKING DAY, I'll give you my Corvette and sign over all my paychecks to you from now on. I can live in the barracks and eat at the chowhall for free, I don't need money. Don't get too excited though... you wouldn't even last long enough to make it to the beatings, let alone endure them for a whole day.

EDIT: Oh, and btw, if you ever told me to my face that one of my brothers who was imprisoned for 5 years and tortured was a "fake ass pussy" I would have you on your knees crying for your mother faster than you can take a breath, and you would stay there until you screamed "I'm a fake ass pussy" at the top of your lungs and answered the question "Who's my bitch" with "I'm your bitch", also at the top of your lungs. I promise you, I would get both statements in less than 3 minutes. With my bare hands. Half that if I have a knife.
