Okay, apart from watching out for hot birds on the net, I've also got myself a new hobby.  Just recently I inherited a canon digital slr camera from my brother when he upgraded to a fancier model.  I didn't bring it with me on the trip we just made to the states, but since I did the driving and he used his new camera to take pictures of birds, I discovered just how much fun we could have hooning through the mountains and desert in a fwd.  Itwas kind of like hunting without actually killing anything and of course, there was no need for a gun.

Now, I'm not really interested in the birds, or even the art of photography so much.  The fun part (for e anyway) I've discovered is crossing off as many birds as I can in the list of those known to be in the area.  Aparently this makes me a "lister" in the "twitching" world of bird-watchers.

So I've started to take pics of birds in the local parks and wetlands around my place and slowly expanding my forays into the rest of Australia as I get the chance.
