I was at the pain center where I have to go once a month because like many of you when I was 20 I too thought I was invincible, so I am there and this gal who is partially paralyzed was there with her husband. I got to talking with them and she brought up a whole new set of wedding vows....Will you wipe the ass of your mate when he/she cant. Will you take her/him to the toilet and lift them on and off. Will you bath them. Will you dress and groom them. I laughed uncomfortably with them and at that moment I knew they were not kidding, yikes! I hadn't thought much about this conversation until last week when my wife and I got back from vacation and she got ill. I had to do some of these things including the lifting in and out of the bathroom. I took her to the hospital last Wed. and she is there now, and not getting much better which makes me think WOW would I have married her with those vows? I would now but if I was younger I just dont know. So if you are going to get married think on the other side of "for better or worse" because hey for worse sucks!
