I've been playing the drums since about 7th grade, I'll be *cough40cough* in January. Ive been in about a half a dozen serious bands. One that we even made a demo, after which we promptly broke up because the singer wanted to go to college 400 miles away. I've lost more and more of my chops as the years have gone by. You know the old saying, "Use it or lose it".

I still love to play but with all the demands of my job, family, home etc. I havent been able to devote the kind of time it takes to practice. The band I'm in now is with a really good bunch of guys. We all like the same music and our goals for playing out are the same. We played a blues party recently and had a blast. Now were going to try to take it to the next level, learning new songs that will play well at our local bars. I can remember a time in my life when it was so easy to play music, to learn it, to get every one in the band together for practice 3 times a week.

Im going to make the time to do something that is incredibly fun and rewarding. And time is what it will take to get my old chops back. I dont want to be that guy that's like "The older I get the better I was". Nope not me. I'm coming back. Even in if I have to stop coming to this site as often as I do.........wait......umm.....I'll get back to you.
