Which would you rather be?

Okay, so this is a question that has always bothered me myself because it could happen to anyone any day.  Not everyone is born deaf and not everyone is born blind.  So which would you rather be?  Deaf or Blind?

I am still undecided so I thought that maybe I would hash it out right here.  Have a little bit of a conversation with myself to see if I can come to a logical conclusion.  I think that one major downside of being deaf would be the lack of music.  Music is a huge part of my life and I am unsure as to whether I want to give that part of my life up.  If I were blind I wouldnt know if my girl was good looking though, that would suck.  Probably end up with Bea Arther or something.  Eww.  It would be easier to communicate if I were blind but I would never be able to tell if there was a hair in my food.  If I were deaf I would be able to sleep alot easier; wouldnt have to listen to my noisy ass neighbors (or my girl) all the time.  If I were deaf I could still drive a car; blind, not so much.  Not having any means of immediate transportation would be quite lame.  Well I am still unsure.  I just know that being deaf and blind would be SUPER LAME.

Helen Keller said this,

I am just as deaf as I am blind. The problems
of deafness are deeper and more complex,
If not more important, than those of blindness.
Deafness is a much worse misfortune. For it
means the loss of the most vital stimulus - the
sound of the voice that brings language, sets
thoughts astir, and keeps us in the intellectual
company of man.

I think that pretty much lays it out for me.  To be deaf, is pretty much not know what is going on most of the time.  It is the most VITAL STIMULOUS.  Regardless of the simple debate I had with myself above.  I think that I would rather be blind based on what Helen Keller has said.

What about you?
