Buffalo Tracking

A couple of cowboys were riding on a trail looking for buffalo to hunt. Since they knew nothing about how to find them, they sought the help of an Indian.
During the first week or so, the Indian regularly got off his horse and put his ear to the ground along the trail. He never spoke a word. He would jump back on his horse and continue riding.
Then after a few more days, the Indian did it again. Only this time, he looked up at the cowboys with a blank stare and said, "Twenty buffalo came here."
One cowboy asked, "You expect me to believe this - that you can tell that simply by putting your ear to the ground?"
The Indian then blurted out, "I know. 20 buffalo came. Ear sticky."
