Two guys are out hiking and they get chased by a bear. They take off and scurry up a tree. The bear starts climbing the tree up after them. One of the guys takes his sneakers out of his backpack and starts putting them on.

His friends says, "What are you doing?"

"Well, I figure when the bear gets up close to us, we'll drop down and make a run for it."

His friend says, "What are you, a jerk? You can't outrun a bear!"

He says, "I don't have to outrun the bear, I just have to outrun you!"
