Letter to Obama From George Bush

Just released by an Oval Office Aide, Bush's Farewell Letter Obama.
1/18/2009

Dear President Barack Hussein Obama,

I wish you the best of luck in your new phase in life, much different from how President Clinton’s staff wished me luck by removing the W’s from White House keyboards. You might want to look into that and see if it a crime, I never got around to it. I hope your four years are excitingly better than my eight. I have not had an easy time I must say.

I am sure you will come under some sort of criticism while you are in office. Criticism that hurts. When it is your turn to leave the White House, hopefully citizens will not be chunking shoes at a caricature blow up doll version of you on the well manicured lawns adjacent to Pennsylvania Ave. When criticism comes, and it most certainly will, stay the course, stay true to your little blue liberal heart. That reminds me, I need to fill out a change of address form at the post office. Even though I am President, or was President, doesn’t mean I can get around those long lines at the post office. If you get any letters for me, or Laura, just leave them on the hallway desk outside the Oval Office. I will just mosey on in and get them.

You and I are very similar, President Obama, with the exceptions being age, ancestral nationality, home state, religion, political party, eye color, foreign policy, favorite sports team, favorite type of music, and hair color.

I wish you the best of luck.

Sincerely,

George W. Bush

P.S. Always watch those older, more experienced Vice Presidents. You never know what is going on in their minds.
