Oscars Sunday is a sacred day when film nerds everywhere get to be the most interesting people in the room. With the opportunity to explain all the movies nominated that most people have not seen or heard of, the 2024 Oscars surely led to some awkward conversations. 

Our host Jimmy Kimmel schooled us on a bit of Oscar history, mentioning the time a streaker ran across stage at the 1974 Acadamy Awards. Then, to one one surprise, "a streaker" (John Cena) ran onstage and announced the winner of Best Costume Design but weirdly no one could see him. The Oscars were man enough to let one talented dog out — Messi From Anatomy of a Fall. Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling had a Barbenheimer roast session on stage. Slash made a cameo during the performance of “I’m Just Ken” which took up all of the night's budget. The Academy loved Poor Things — specifically Emma Stone swishing her long black wig and hooking up with Mark Ruffalo. But the Academy especially loved Oppenheimer for Cillian Murphy’s big blue eyes.
