Some people who took a stroll along Virginia Beach came across a terrifying view: a head of monstrous creature was lurking in the sand.

This turned out to be a stargazer fish, otherwise known as Astroscopus guttatus. This fish bury themselves in the sand in order to ambush their prey.

They do not pose a threat to humans. But they can scare the life out of you.
