Identical Twins Studied On The Tolls Of Drug Use On The Body & Appearance - The dangers of drug use has been widely documented for many years, but now a new groundbreaking study has provided shocking photographic evidence of the devastating effects using drugs can have on a person’s face. Researchers in the Waterford Institute Of Technology studied five pairs of identical twins where one took some form of illegal drugs and the other didn’t and found that the user sibling showed considerably more signs of premature facial aging. -
2.
Micky and Paddy - It was not all bad news for addicts, scientists in the study were astounded to find that 23-year-old twins Micky and Paddy Ward were even blood related. Micky, on the left, never used drugs a day in his life but yet looked a whole lot older than his twin brother Paddy. However, both brothers grew up apart with different parents; Mikey with his dad and Paddy with his mom. Paddy has been ‘using’ since the age of 12 but looks a lot fresher than his younger twin of 12 minutes. That's right, Mickey is even 12 minutes younger. Can you believe that? Can you? -
3.
Helene & Hattie - This is Helene and her identical twin Hattie. They are both 66, both smoke cigarettes, and both are addicted to caffeine. Peggy & Anne - Peggy and Anne Coffee were probably the highlight of the entire study. Anne, on the right, showed considerable aging over the years and proves beyond reasonable doubt that meth is an aging disease. Sister Peggy said her sibling first took up the habit in 1994, before being hit by a bus while trying to cross the road and score a hit. Since then the twin has taken a down hill battle with her addiction, losing most of her teeth, hair and skin. Anne Coffee hasn’t spoken since the drug related accident and continues to lose vital parts of her anatomy to household pets and family members. -
5.
Joy & Jill - This is Joy. She is from the UK, and has been on every drug imaginable since she was 16 years old and a runaway. You can clearly see that her resemblance to her twin, Jill, on the right, has changed drastically over the years, and her continual drug use has caught up with her. She began losing hair and skin coloring about 7 years ago, after her first stay in a rehab center. -
6.
Cindy & Destiny - Cindy Johnson and her sister Destiny are another prime example of how drug use can effect a persons appearance. It doesn’t take an expert here to see which twin sister uses heroin on a daily basis. That’s right, the girl on the right. Although still moderately attractive, Destiny claims she finds it very hard to get a man into bed with her and that her wrinkly exterior is a nightmare when trying to apply make up. So there you have it girls; if you want to get lucky in the bedroom, you better give up those drugs. -
7.
Judy & Joni - Researchers are baffled over this case, and it's clear to see why. Identical twins Judy and Joni are both 37 years old. However, Judy, on the left, has started growing facial hair, getting a receding hair line, and many wrinkles and dark circles around his eyes and mouth. The years of recreational drugs have caught up with her, and 4 years of being "clean" have not erased the many years of over use of illegal street drugs. -
8.
Jessica & Maureen - The study also found that twins with a longer duration of smoking weed had worse scores for bags on the lower lids and under the eyes and lower lip wrinkles. In the picture above, sisters Jessica and Maureen both started smoking weed at the age of 3 months after finding a joint in their mothers handbag. However, Jessica stopped smoking the stuff in her late teens but her identical twin Maureen continued right to the present day. Big difference, right? -

10.
Earl & BillyBob - Twins Earl and BillyBob both live in Arkansas. They are 37 years old. Earl began cooking meth out of a shed at the age of 14 and became addicted. Aside from selling the illegal substance, he is also a user. BillyBob had admitted to smoking pot once at a party, but never go into the harder drugs. The evidence speaks for itself here. -
