Thanks to the anonymity of online platforms, people feel way more comfortable insulting one another than they should. Celebrities feel the brunt of this force, typically fielding thousands of negative tweets and comments everywhere they go. 

Jimmy Kimmel decided to weaponize these "Mean Tweets," and created what is probably his most iconic segment. He's had actors, musicians, comedians, athletes and more read their mean tweets to the camera, highlighting the ridiculousness of calling out celebrities via Twitter.
