      • This would be a nice argument, if it were true. First off, people have observed evolution actually happening. We assume that evolution is true because it has stood up to whatever is thrown at it. Also, we assume that everyone has a brain because we have either seen a brain in someone's head firsthand, or have been told that people have brains by people who have seen them. The problem with this kind of argument is that we may not have actually observed with our senses people's brains, but if we really wanted to we could. Also, the part about evil is pretty skewed. Evil doesn't really exist, it's just what we call things that we interpret as being bad, just as "cold" is what we call something that has less heat than we do.

      • I was under the impression that he said he would agree to public financing, or at least checked a "yes" box on a sheet of paper (I guess that counts as "giving his word"). Once he won the Democratic nomination, he declared he wouldn't be using public financing to fund his campaign because the system was "broken". Who says he was taking it all along and telling everyone he wasn't?

      • If you want to look at it from that position, sure, he changed his mind on it. But how many things has McCain changed his mind on in the past few years? There's Falwell, ethanol, Bush tax cuts, torture, and Roe v. Wade, to name a few. Does that make McCain a dirty liar too?

      • The money is coming from his supporter's donations. Trust me, if there was any suspicious money coming into his campaign you'd be hearing all about it from the McCain camp. Also, being a Palestinian and critical of America's relationship with Israel is not the same thing as being a terrorist. Obama was involved with him because he taught at the university of Chicago, they didn't meet at some PLO convention or something.

      • I don't think the weakening is purely a physical thing. More and more people who would probably have died from their mental shortcomings are able to live under the safety of inventions, ideas, and societies which were created by much smarter people. Had they been left to their own devices, they wouldn't have a chance at survival. These people are able to grow and breed new versions of themselves, some smarter but most equally stupid or more stupid. I wonder how far this chain will go until intelligent people decide enough is enough.

    • How Would You Do It?

      • I'd like to be shocked with electric prods until I'm forced to walk into a restraining device that clamps me up nice and tight and turns me upside down so that my neck is exposed. Then, fully conscious, I'd like a strange man with a long knife to cut my throat open, rip out my trachea, and throw it into a trash can. Next, they can mutilate me and dump me out of the device onto the concrete so I can wallow a while in my blood and the blood of the countless others before me. Then when I'm tired of my hopeless attempts at escape I'll need someone to tie a chain around one or both of my feet. The man who cut my throat can kick blood in my face before I'm hung up to bleed out.

About Me

"When I, a thoughtful and unblessed Presbyterian, examine the Koran, I know that beyond any question every Mohammedan is insane, not in all things, but in religious matters. When a thoughtful and unblessed Mohammedan examines the Westminster Catechism, he knows that beyond any question I am spiritually insane. I cannot prove to him that he is insane, because you never can prove anything to a lunatic — for that is a part of his insanity and the evidence of it. He cannot prove to me that I am insane, for my mind has the same defect that afflicts his... When I look around me, I am often troubled to see how many people are mad."

"I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it."

"Of all the creatures that were made he [man] is the most detestable. Of the entire brood he is the only one — the solitary one — that possesses malice. That is the basest of all instincts, passions, vices — the most hateful...He is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain."
