      • Although their speech may sound a little funny, it is possible for Deaf people to learn (or re-learn) how to speak. I googled this story- the girl had a genetic condition that caused her to lose her hearing as a toddler. The reasons she could speak pretty normally was able to hear so well with the cochlear implant (which normally takes several months before you can understand speech through it) was probably because she had normal hearing some early speech before going Deaf.

      • My dad had a similar procedure when he was a kid. He put muscle rub on a sprained finger/wrapped tightly in a bandage (DON'T DO IT!) overnight, and the flesh was falling off the bone in the morning. They made an incision in his bicep and stuck the finger there so the tissue could regenerate. It worked (but now his finger is hairy like his arm haha).

      • I wouldn't call any of these "subliminal" advertising per se (creative advertising, perhaps). Subliminal advertising is when they sneak something into the ad that is so subtle you don't notice it- like ice cubes spelling out S-E-X in a liquor ad. The hidden message usually involves sex or something that makes you feel good when you look at the ad, so you are theoretically more likely to buy it.
