      • OK, first of all, I do not have pictures of underage girls all over my profile. And you still did not address my points. You said you would love to explain it to me, but you haven't. I'm starting to think that's just something you say when you have no argument against it, but just want to sound smart.

      • That's exactly what I said too. When you said "The entire point of people leaving England over religion was because the English government was taking way their religious freedom!! Are you kidding?!?" I thought that was your way of mocking my statement, because that's exactly what I was talking about in my first post. So you basically agreed with my point in my first post, I just misunderstood your comment. And there are PLENTY of people who want the laws of our country to be based on Christianity. A fairly large amount of republicans do. They are constantly saying how they want us to follow the teachings of christ, and anytime a law comes up that doesn't, they disagree with it simply because it goes against their religious beliefs. How is that not interpreting the bible as a constitution? It's using the bible to create and influence laws.

      • Once again, not really addressing any of my points. And congratulations for already getting to the ad hominem attacks. After my first point of contention, all you can do is attack me personally. First of all, I made this account when I was 17 years old, and yes I chose a picture of a girl. I haven't changed it because I don't give a sh%u2022t. And please do explain to me how the contradictions don't matter. And I for one would have to think that the continued survival of our species after the initial creation is still a cornerstone. It's a pretty big deal, and it's never explained, which you even admitted. But I do like how you down voted my comment about how religious people require absolute evidence from science, but expect everyone to believe every ridiculous story in the bible with no proof at all, and didn't even bother to address it. Good on you.

      • Completely false. They left because they they wanted to be able to worship in the way they believed was correct, and they were not allowed to do so in Britain. I would refer you to http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/religion/rel01.html. And sharia law is the law of Islam. There are people that would interpret the bible as a constitution, and force everyone to follow it if they could. You completely avoided my points, and made false arguments against them.

      • That's one of my biggest problems with religion, is that we are just supposed to be satisfied with the ridiculous, half-assed, and often contradicted answers that the bible "provides" for us. Where as when it comes to science, religious people demand absolute evidence for everything before they will accept it. There is a hell of a lot more evidence for evolution than there is for man being made out of dust, and yet Christians are perfectly willing to accept the "made from dust" view, but when presented with actual evidence for evolution, they turn up their noses, and say it's not good enough. Completely ridiculous.

      • Uh oh. He has zero respect towards you... Try not to lose any sleep tonight John. But I would like to draw attention to a point you make, Omnitone. "...which the Bible doesn't elaborate on, but doesn't need to anyway." Really? Why would it not need to? It's kind of a corner stone to the story of creation. The bible goes in to so much detail about how God made man and woman (twice by the way, with two different stories), and then we are just supposed to accept that we don't know what happened after that? We are just supposed to accept that possible huge flaw in Genesis? Would you really accept it if a scientist told you "Evolution is true, but we don't need to elaborate on how we know that." And don't even try saying it's not the same thing. In both instances neither party is explaining what is a huge flaw in it's argument.

      • I'm going to have to take offense with #23. The separation of church and state is not there to protect religion from government. That's ridiculous. It's there to protect the people from a religion taking over the country, like it did in England. You know, the country that America fought to gain it's independence from. If you don't agree, look at other countries that base their laws on scripture. They are mostly middle eastern countries, and you can't honestly tell me that you would want to go live in those countries that institute and enforce religious laws. The separation of church and state is there so that everyone can believe whatever they want, and not have their rights infringed upon just because the government decided to follow a different religion than theirs. What if the U.S. government decided to start living by the laws of Orthodox Judaism? Would that seem fair to you?

      • Sorry, but that's the same as me saying my belief in dragons is untarnished because you can't offer any scientific proof of them not existing.

      • I couldn't even get through the entire Kent Hovind videos. His opening statements are some of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. He talks about not wanting to pay to teach children lies based on a "religion" called evolution, but he is perfectly willing to pay to teach lies based on the religion called christianity. He also poses a lot of questions, which he says are "predictions". He "predicts all these things that he believes, but does not offer any proof of them, yet asks for all the proof to come from the evolutionists. Anyone with half a brain can see through these ridiculous arguments. He wins crowds over because he is a confident, and fast public speaker, debating against people who are retired, and twice his age. No wonder people think he "won" the debate.

      • First of all, I would love to see all these debates that evolutionary scientists have lost. I'm not religious, so you can't expect me to just take your word for it. And second, I love how the video claims evolution is false and people only believe in it because people have done some drawings "showing how man evolved from early primates." He says "those are only drawings, people." So using this logic, how does the bible hold up? All it is is written stories, people. How are they any better than the drawings that people have made about evolution? You know, except for the fact that these "drawings" come from scientists, who actually study this stuff, and not bronze aged goat herders that listened to voices in their heads.
