I would have thought that you could appreciate when anyone, atheist or not and regardless of their "agenda", tries to help the homeless. What does it matter as long as the homeless are being helped?

      • Just atheists attention seeking. A church runs a soup kitchen. The atheists could start their own soup kitchen, they could give the items to homeless on the street, they could cook soup at home and give it out from the back of a van.. but instead they want to push themselves into a Christian organisation to undermine and confuse what they are trying to do, and then make headlines on crappy youtube "news" channels because of the "outrage" when their ploys are rejected.

      • There were no doctors though, potter. Anointing with oil infused with herbs you could argue was the origin of medicine. What is relevant about James 5:14 is that they prayed AND treated the ill with the best medicine they had at the time. Firebase, i don't need to prove it. Its in the Bible and thats all that matters if you want to claim the Bible teaches people to pray instead of use medicine.

      • You cannot account for stupidity. There is nothing in the Bible which would make someone think prayer is an equivalent to medical treatment. Indeed Jesus himself gets his feet treated.
