Maybe I read that wrong but it looks like you said your taxes went up. I don't think dangle is saying that we intentionally destroyed our economy. Who would do that? I think he's saying that our policies, driven by intentions, are what destroyed the economy. And the sad thing is, those policies haven't really changed. In the "great economic reform" nothing was done about Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae. Handing out home loans like candy is the biggest cause of the financial meltdown. I know, you're going to say it was all the "greedy brokers" and lack of regulation. But, if the toxic mortgages hadn't been created in the first place, the "greedy brokers" wouldn't have had derivatives to trade. The gov't heaped on more regulations but failed to address one of the root problems. Expressing your honest opinion does not lend credibility but saying what you think

      • Remember the self esteem project of the 1980's in California? They started teaching little Johnny that there are no wrong answers and a person can get as many chances as he needs to get things done correctly, etc. Anything that might bruise little Johnny's delicate self esteem were forbidden. That approach has nothing in common with reality.
