The point you're missing is, that if I wanted to have a 100% serious discussion about my worldview, I'd sure as hell not put forth much effort to do it on ebaumsworld; I'd so to a more... shall we say...       • I get so many rips from the other half of the opinion spectrum, you'd find it a miracle I could even function as a human being.       • over is known to many as Earth, call it what you will, globalization is happening. And the USA is getting sold to the highest bidder, and it ain't our rich uncle sam, he went into debt maintaining the illusion of prosperity. A country is only as good as her people, and as the greatest generation fades away, it gets replaced by the instant satisfaction generation. In short, America's future isn't as great as you guys are making it out to be. Blind love and loyalty leads to people thinking that there's no room for improvement. Maybe it's just me, but I think that's a dangerous line of thought.

      • You know what has eluded you? Force doesn't give us these freedoms. It doesn't protect these freedoms. You're naive if you believe that. You know why those camel-fuckers in the Middle East hate us? You honestly think it's because they hate freedom? Or do you think it's because we dump billions into arming the fuck out of Israel? Nearly the whole of Europe enjoys these freedoms and more, not because the U.S. protects them, not because they have an over-bloated military. Can you guess what gives them their freedom, jackass? You get all the benefits of freedom of speech, religion, assembly, press, all of America's freedoms, and in some cases, a few more, WITHOUT having to eat a mile of bullshit about how they're 'number one' just because they have a modern gov't. I don't stand for the anthem, in all seriousness, because it's a fucking song (about, you guessed it, a fucking war). I don't salute the flag because it's a piece of cloth. I don't practice idolatry. I appreciate the fact that we live in a republic, hell, it's better than despotism, I'll acknowledge that. But is it the 'most free, absolutley bestest place in the whole, wide world, and that we're so absolutely great that we can't possibly learn from any other country because their greatness pales in comparison to ours'? No. It's exactly that attitude that's fucking us. We feel that if we're American, and we bolt tires onto cars in an assembly line, that we're somehow special and deserving of a life of luxury.
