Band Starts Album Tour by Apologizing for Their Terrible Music

Bowling for Soup has had a long, weird career. Despite being a band that sang about women “creamin’ over tough guys” and a potential beauty queen losing her competition to a “slut with much bigger breast-es,” the band became a favorite of the Disney Channel and even managed to write the theme song for the show Phineas and Ferb.

Now, the band is capitalizing on that long-term success by touring on the album that made it all happen, A Hangover You Don’t Deserve. There’s just one problem: as the band readily admits, the album kinda sucks.

According to the lead singer, the album was put together at a time when people were buying music primarily through iTunes. This meant that, if you wanted to secure a sale, you had to put all of your good songs toward the front of the tracklist. This *also* meant that an album got worse as it went along — putting bands like theirs in an awkward position when they want to recreate the thing live.

It’s a pretty funny problem to have, and his explanation of this issue makes it even better.
