      • I agree with your assertion that people are the problem...I do not agree that science and religion are creating the same amount of damage to our world. The fact that a belief system that has zero factual basis in the real world creates the wanton death and destruction perpetrated in the name of religion is an absolute tragedy of the human race. Science may have negatives, but those can be balanced by the positives, if not entirely outweighed. Again it comes down to people...and how they use religion, or technology, to their own purposes, whether nefarious or virtuous.

      • western civilization out of the dark ages by making the printed word and education available to the masses. Until that time, the Catholic Church held people down and controlled them by only allowing the scripture to be printed and read in Latin, which kept Christianity under the control of the priests and ultimately the Church. If you control salvation, you control the populace...and the attendant perks (money, power, prestige, women, etc.) that come with it. Once the people had scripture available to their own interpretation...and in fact their own ability just to READ it, this shook the power structure of the church...and helped reduce its domination of the west. If God was obvious...it would not take belief and faith to know.

      • Your belief in the existence of God does not make it obvious to anyone but yourself. There is no proof of God. None...other than what your personal faith will allow past your rational human mind. BTW, bringing up the Holy Roman Church as an example of Christian morality means you have not studied the history of said church...unless you are talking about the Eastern Orthodox Church...the schism in the mid 11th century broke the existing church into two factions...some of their arguments included which city (Rome or Constantinople) was the seat of the church...and whether the Eucharist should be leavened or not. The Roman Catholic church was and is one of the most corrupt organizations in the world. You want to talk about power, money, and fame? They didn't become the biggest private landowner in the world through prayer, son. Blaming Martin Luther for the corruption of Christianity just further shows your Catholic allegiance. Please realize, Martin Luther helped advance western c

      • Statistically, most people in the US who identify themselves as atheists came from a religious household. So the molesters are going to typically be religious...with the majority Christian. Sorry finkelstein. Here's my source...its from a Christian website. http://www.faithstreet.com/onfaith/2012/08/13/poll-shows-atheism-on-the-rise-in-the-us/20818

      • SO you are saying, this was God deliberately entrapping Adam and Eve? He put something desirable in front of them and told them not to touch it KNOWING they didn't understand that disobedience was bad. Even sent a talking snake to goad them into disobeying him. I don't think you read #9 clearly, because it states precisely what you said...only clearly. If He is truly omnipotent, He knew the eventual outcome. I don't know why I am even discussing creation and talking snakes as if it was even a possible world history...but figured I would explore your world view...still doesn't make an iota of sense to me...glad you are happy with it!

      • in the Us and elsewhere. Please, feel free to worship as you see fit...but do not attempt to make me live by the rules established by your choice of deity and religious group. If people would just live together...and respect each other...this would never be an issue. I am all for that. I don't post these galleries out of hate...especially for the individual. I post them for people who share my worldview, not to troll Christians. The galleries are clearly marked...if hapless Christians wander in here and are offended, it is strictly by their own choice.

      • Huh...I am extremely befuddled after reading your comment...so I will attempt to respond in no particular order whatsoever. First, horns up for the gods of metal, you know who you are! I agree that if Jesus ever did exist, he certainly wasn't the western European version we see plastered in every Christian depiction of him in the western hemisphere. I think everyone should have the right to believe whatever they want...and I would fight for that right. I do not have a problem with anyone or their religious affiliation at a personal level. I have seen people benefit positively from their religious belief. My problem is with the concept of religion as a whole...the negative effects it has on society, and on the advancement of the human race. I do not feel religion should be a part of legislation...for or against. I believe in liberty...and freedom...I do not feel I should have laws that affect me that are based solely on religious principle...which is what many are trying to do i
