      • I've searched for the video for a while, and haven't found any videos from the Obama campaign that fit the description, though I have found a few random videos on Youtube that are kind of like what you were talking about. If that's what you're talking about, then isn't saying "this latest advertisement for the Obama campaign" kind of misleading? Again, I definitely could just be missing it for some reason, could you supply a link to what you're talking about?

      • Talking to me or shadow, Ellimem? If it's me, I'm confused. I guess I'm pointing the finger at Republicans for having a more negative campaign, but how am I doing the same thing? Oh and Kaustic, I get your point, and it's probably a pretty valid one, though I can't say for sure since I haven't seen what you're talking about.

      • "Is this what it's come to? A true campaign SHOULD be composed of the candidates shining the spotlight on their strengths, not their opponent's weaknesses. Sure, stabs are in order, but it shouldn't comprise the majority of your campaign." I think this may apply more so to the Republican campaign than the Democrats, and what's wrong with prepubescent girls questioning Palin? They're probably smarter than her, no? I haven't actually seen the ad, and unless I'm missing something this doesn't seem that bad.

      • Being a powerful country doesn't translate into being the "world police." Where in the Constitution does it say we have to govern and play a part of everyone else's government? Now of course if China or Russia or India or Brazil was "the most powerful nation," and they stuck their nose into everything we did, I doubt you'd be singing the same tune. What frightens me is that there are hundreds of millions of people like you, people who don't take anything into consideration if it doesn't serve their arrogant world view.

      • While I agree that the military is a part of being president, I can't acknowledge that it's the biggest part of it. Between knowledge of the economy, foreign affairs, ethics, taxes, and civil rights, I can't decide on a clear "biggest part," but military knowledge certainly isn't it. Also, not getting many military voters doesn't translate into not knowing what to do in situations involving the military.

      • I just want to bring up that working in the Military doesn't somehow predispose you to choosing the best person to lead your country. In fact, the percentage of Army recruits with high school diploma's has reached a 25 year low in 2007, with just 71% having their diploma, down 13 points from '05. And I'm not trying to disrespect any Military personnel, so don't come at me with that. I'm also wondering why the majority of blacks voting for Obama is a "Big surprise!" when close to the same majority of Non-Hispanic whites voting for McCain isn't.

About Me

"When I, a thoughtful and unblessed Presbyterian, examine the Koran, I know that beyond any question every Mohammedan is insane, not in all things, but in religious matters. When a thoughtful and unblessed Mohammedan examines the Westminster Catechism, he knows that beyond any question I am spiritually insane. I cannot prove to him that he is insane, because you never can prove anything to a lunatic — for that is a part of his insanity and the evidence of it. He cannot prove to me that I am insane, for my mind has the same defect that afflicts his... When I look around me, I am often troubled to see how many people are mad."

"I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it."

"Of all the creatures that were made he [man] is the most detestable. Of the entire brood he is the only one — the solitary one — that possesses malice. That is the basest of all instincts, passions, vices — the most hateful...He is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain."
