      • Although I couldn't fully support a "this is intentional, we have had nothing to do with the consumerist plot" idea that might spring from this, I really think you have a point. It reminds me of Brave New World, where the savage discusses problems that mankind used to have. He states that we merely got rid of anything that annoyed us, citing the disappearance of mosquitoes as an example. Well, aren't we genetically modifiying insects to control their populations? Although I think the importance of a functioning ecosystem will keep us in check, I could see this happening to some degree, because we certainly do it now.

      • Good point. The horrors of Christianity are many, don't mistake me. Don't get me started on the Crusades. But giving people, who were neither educated nor deep thinkers, a value system that helped them understand concepts of morality? Surely you must see some benefits.

      • Well, I was just pointing out that there may be a reason why Horus isn't worshipped today, and Christ is. I know that doesn't really contest what is being said, but I think it should be considered.

      • I'm saying their logic in thinking that it is some disorder that can be fixed is just as faulty as the methods used to "fix" things they once thought could be fixed.
