      • some of that. I remember when everyone had a job and everyone could have a job and to get a house you just needed a down payment of a thimble. Those were the 90's. Oh and basic instinct was a shitpile of a movie. If I wanted to see a vagina so much there were faster less time consuming ways to do it.

      • you are right about our standard of living being too much in this country. that wasn't even my point. My point was that where you find famine it is because the population in that area has exceeded their carrying capacity, and we keep it at an excess through food donations. there are other factors to the suffering going on in some nations, I don't debate this. My point is that every time you increase food available the population will go beyond what can be supported by that increase.

      • It is unfair to personalize the situation. of course I would want handouts in that position. that doesn't make it a good idea. the reason for the famine to begin with is because, in many cases, agriculture was forced upon people who didn't ask for it, then modern medicine was forced upon them as well. their infant mortality rates dropped, their food stores increased and their population exploded. all their own resources were outstripped and their numbers were kept inflated with donations, and continue to. By no longer sending aid you would no longer fuel the fire and the suffering would be less. yes, this generation would starve, but the next and after that would be better off. You can say I am being heartless, but you have to look at problems this way you cannot become personally involved.

      • I'm not sure I understand how becoming more productive would help. you can more equally distribute labor (is this really what you suggest?) and then when everyone is more productive, then what? what suffering has been reduced?

      • no. My point was that you can't douse the fire. gasoline (food) only makes the fire (famine) worse by increasing the flames (population)

      • le gasp, someone who makes sense other then me. I'm with you for most of it, but I do NOT trust the state to educate children and your system of keeping people egalitarian is flawed in that those who are put in place to control or enforce this will always be looking out for themselves ala dunbar's number. a good start though. Nice to have someone as passionate about population control as me

      • copypasta. that said, every high school SHOULD have an abortion clinic. Nothing would make me happier. there should be abortion clinics on every corner. Anything that makes for less people makes me happy. Global warming is alreayd understood to be a genuine problem. Not as big a problem as population mind you, but a problem. In terms of France, they happen to be a beast of a nation with a history of having a bad ass military. everyone gives them shit for their early surrender in ww2 but we only won the revolutionary war because of aid from France.

      • very simple. we have ten fingers so we made a base ten decimal system. the basis of our decimal system is a very satisfying number because it's the one we deal with most. for the record, don't ever use the image of the great Carlin for your nonsense.
