One of the key causes of the Civil War was that the South wanted to break apart from the North, and one of the reasons was because of the North's policy on SLAVERY. The president at the time was Lincoln, and he was a republican against slavery.       • I'm voting Republican because I don't get my views off of biased videos that mislead you. I watched that, her answer was fair. She said that we should rid the world of terrorist threats, et cetera. What the doctrine says is basically that we have the right to kill who poses a threat to us. She answered it fine.

      • There are some redneck democrats and republicans, in fact back in the Civil War, the slave owning rednecks were democrats. Don't forget that the first Lincoln was a republican, and the democrats down south with the slaves hated him, of course times changed. Now there are both republican and democratic rednecks. As for the black people, there are not a ton of black republicans.
