      • Even as we sit here, and we all watch our rights being eroded before our eyes, we still see those who believe in the idea of a socialist society in the United States. They do not care about their rights, nor will they, until those rights are taken from them completely. They do not care about the idea of being over-taxed, until they see the dent in their paycheck. And worst of all, they do not care if someone is running our Constitutional Republic as a Tyrant, until that Tyrant comes knocking on their doorstep.       • It makes me physically ill to listen to progressives spout off about the average Republican, and generalize them as if they were a part of a sadistic cult. We simply want the Government to get the hell out of our lives (I'm a pro-choice Republican in most instances). I want a Government that helps out my fellow man, and myself. Not one who claims to know what is best for me, and how dare I question them. They are in a position of power that is to be used to PROTECT me, and aid me in my quest for happiness. Such powers are not put in place to be used for personal agenda, or the "Robin Hood", agenda. My earnings are mine, and shall be utilized as I see fit. If I want to give to charity (which I do), then I will. If I don't, that's my issue. If I want to be a lazy son of a bitch and live off of my fellow man, then they better damn well be willing to give it to me, not forcibly taken by the hand of the government.

      • chochy, thanks for proving my point. karozans, you're a smart man, but unfortunately all that does is piss them off and make them fight you harder. It's a defense mechanism for them. Where we use reason, proof, and logic, they use insults and opinion. It's unbelievably irritating to me that they waste their existence on something that they believe is for the greater good, but is in fact provably detrimental to their cause, and themselves, yet they are too tied up in their beliefs to ever objectively look at it from that point of view for even a moment. The rights and liberties given to myself, my loved ones, and my fellow countrymen are incredibly important to me, and I am one who stands by the phrase "give me liberty, or give me death". The mere fact that it means so little to them is what I will never understand.
